Tom Osborne is a Long Island based singer/songwriter. His goal is to bring this exciting genre back to new heights, within his generation. His style fits into the adult album alternative and piano rock genres. Tom’s songwriting tells a multitude of stories with the ambition of shooting for the stars.  This can be heard on his first release, titled “A Pending Notion” (2001) and on his latest self titled release “Tom Osborne” (2008).

Along with the help of some of Long Island’s finest session players, Tom extends his vast musical talents on both his albums by playing piano, keyboards, drums, harmonica and singing lead and backing vocals.

Primarily a drummer from a young age, Tom gained his experience from lessons, playing in bands and numerous studio situations. Still in his youth he also had an interest in keyboard instruments. When he was not behind the drum kit, Tom taught himself how to play keyboards and piano in his spare time, consistently practicing on a daily basis. In the mid 1990’s Tom played drums in a band he co-founded called North Purpose, which had a five year run. For various reasons the band dispersed and with the blessing of his band mates Tom decided to embark on his own.

Now on his own, he was able to express all his musical ideas.
Even after two CD releases he still has a strong attachment to the drums but his true passion lies in the piano which he now considers his primary instrument.

Tom is a lover of music, with a wide interest for many genres. Although his own style of writing is in the piano rock and adult album alternative area, Tom feels that by listening, learning and playing music from other styles can vastly improve your technical ability. He believes you can never stop learning and will always consider himself a student of the musical arts.
